Dssolvr Nov 3 Pints and Pottery: Lewd Shot Glasses
Date: Monday, November 3, 2025, 6pm-8:30pm (Please arrive early if you plan to order a beverage before class. Plan to end on time.)
Location: Dssolvr Brewery, 630 Rigsbee Ave, Durham, NC 27701
Enjoy a devious beverage at Dssolvr Brewery in Durham, NC while you sculpt lewd (or just cute!) shot glasses. You will be provided with 1 pound of cream-white clay from which you can build a few shot glasses, and I will show you how to sculpt them into little figurines like boobies, faces, cats, or something else you have in mind. (fragile, thin, and delicate sculptures discouraged due to transportation) Glasses can be used for anything, not just shots of Fireball!
At the end of class, I will take your creations to my studio to be fired, waxed, glazed, and fired again. They will be dishwasher and microwave-safe. Your shot glasses will be available for pick-up at Dssolvr in Durham once they are finished.
***Very important*** Pottery is a bit of science and a lot of physics, and random things happen in the creation process. I will try my absolute best to care for your creation from start to finish, but strange things do happen as clay dries, such as cracking and warping. I will explain how you can likely prevent this while we are sculpting, but I’m always surprised by what clay will do. By signing up for this class, you accept the fate of the kiln gods, and there are no refunds or replacements for projects that do not survive the process.
Your shot glasses will be available for pick-up at Dssolvr in Durham once they are finished.
FAQ:
Q: What kinds of shot glasses can I make?
A: You can make them for yourself or as gifts! While the class is titled “lewd” shot glasses, you don’t just have to stick to dicks and boobies. As long as it’s not so thin and fragile it breaks during transportation, we can sculpt animals, faces, and even decorate abstractly.
Q: Do I need to know how to work with clay to take this class?
A: No - you do not need to have any knowledge about working with clay to make shot glasses using this method!
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Your ID for a beverage and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. I will provide everything needed to make your dishes. Grab a friend and bring them too!
Q: How long is the class?
A: The instruction portion of the class will last about 30 minutes. Then you will have 2 hours to explore and finish your sculptures, and I will be there to assist. Please plan to end on time.
Please be sure to read my FAQ about "returns & exchanges" before purchasing.
